Before the cleanout

General Cleanout Questions

Clear answers about preparation, access, estimates, and items that need a separate plan.

How should I prepare?

Set aside valuables and documents, label what stays, photograph each area, and clear a safe route.

How is an estimate shaped?

Volume, weight, item type, disassembly, access, stairs, elevator use, carrying distance, and disposal requirements can all affect it.

Do I need to move everything outside?

Not necessarily. The agreed scope should say where items are and how the route will work.

What should be flagged early?

Paint, chemicals, fuel, batteries, medical material, cylinders, unknown liquids, records, and data-bearing electronics.

Can several rooms be included?

Yes, when every area is listed in the scope and the finish condition is clear.

What does finished mean?

It can mean selected contents removed, shelves emptied, or a broom-clean pass. Put the expected finish in writing.
